Waitakere City Council

Energy Solution Providers assisted Waitakere City Council with its energy management programme from 2002 - 2010 with conducting energy reviews and identifying simple energy opportunities, helping solve energy related problems, assisting with energy contract tenders, installing more efficient equipment, evaluating new technologies, reviewing lighting or HVAC proposals and designs for energy efficiency outcomes, providing wording to incorporate energy efficiency into new building designs, and installing real time monitoring for electricity, gas and water for Waitakere Central, West Wave aquatic facility and Waikumete Cemetery.  As a result of energy management the Council has saved or avoided $2.16 million in energy costs and 13.36 million kilowatt hours since 2001.

As a result of this work Waitakere City Council won the prestigious 2007 EECA Ministry for the Environment Public Sector Award

Landcare Research

The most significant issues for Landcare Research reflect global and national priorities for reducing climate change impacts, energy- and resource-efficiency and waste minimization:

• reducing fossil fuel use and electricity consumption, then off-setting greenhouse gas emissions that cannot be reduced
• incorporating energy- and water-sensitive design features into new buildings, and retrofitting them into existing buildings
• reducing water consumption and stormwater runoff
• minimising resource use and waste to landfill from daily operations and from building refurbishments
• ensuring any animal-related research or use of genetic-modification techniques complies with legislative requirements and our own stringent ethical policies.

With Energy Solution Providers Energy Coaching programme and our Monitoring and Targeting Solution EIServer® our goal is to ensure Landcare Research meets their goals in minimising their use of resources and waste minimization.

Auckland City Council

We worked with Des on a number of projects that have delivered significant savings, including our most recent audit which has identified 55% annual energy savings on one of there properties.

Auckland Zoo

We conducted a full energy audit at the Auckland Zoo. We assisted the Zoo to rationalise their overall consumption by installing Power Factor Correction on the main board and Variable Speed Drives on a number of water pumps. Savings in excess of 57% have been achieved.
